Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With the majority of my students living at or below the poverty level, many of them rely on the school to provide them with food for breakfast and lunch. By providing students with a snack to take home they will at least have one more meal to hold them over until dinner time.

I believe the impact of this project will be more than just a pack of cookies and a juice box to take home, but it will also help my students understand that there are DonorsChoose donors who care about their well-being.

People don't care about what you know until they know how much you care. Sending my students home with a snack lets them know that they're loved and cared for. It's very easy for us to take advantage of the fact that we have access to basic needs like food and drink.
