This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarten and first grade students are creative learners that are full of questions and eager to learn. Although they cannot be in the classroom, they check in everyday and complete all there assignments on time. They are full of hope. They have adapted to changing times in order to continue learning. Nothing can stop them!
My Project
These materials are the tools my students need in order to learn the math concepts they need. They can count, add, subtract, visualize numbers, problem solve, create number sentences and more. It's a way of giving them a little of what they would have at school. Computers and virtual learning can only do so much. Our young learners, learn best by touching and moving the objects while counting them. I can teach math in a variety of ways. We can count forward and back using a number line or a ten frame. The possibilities are endless. Bottomline is that these supplies are essential in our student's cognitive development.
