My Students
I teach first grade in a small farming town in Illinois. We have such a diverse students population. On one side of town, we have students who come from half-million-dollar homes and on the other side of town students who come from public-housing situations. 30% of our student population receives free and reduced price lunch and school fees. My goal for all my students is to give each and every one of them the same opportunity to learn with every advantage possible.
If I can accomplish one thing in the short time I have my students, it would be that know that I truly love and value them as individuals.
My Project
I love to use technology to enhance my students learning. When using technology to extend a lesson or as a teaching tool students are always engaged and excited to learn. Technology is the way of life. It only hinders my students to not know practical ways to utilize and work with these items.
I would LOVE to add an iPad mini to our classroom so we could make our learning come to life.
We will be able to listen to stories, play math games, use Osmo to interact with letters and numbers, and create movies after a story we authored. The possibilities are endless!
