This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students with autism are attending school for the first time in a newly opened Flexroom! This space is designed for students who struggle with self-regulation in the regular education setting. Writing and fine motor activities are difficult for my students with autism, and they need extra practice with fine motor skills and prewriting skills.
Fine motor skills are necessary for performing everyday academic, play, and self-care skills.
The materials in this project will be used to help my students improve their fine motor skills in a fun and interactive way. The Trace &Write Number and Letter Centers and Magnetic Drawing Board will help to develop skills in recognizing and forming numbers, one-to-one correspondence, and fine motor development. Feelings Magic Board will help develop skills in identifying and describing emotions, social-emotional development, and fine motor control. These materials will help them build their fine motor skills, prepare them for the future, and build their writing skills.
