My goal for Nothing But Cricuts is to allow my students to experience entrepreneurship at their levels. A School-based Enterprise is an excellent opportunity for my students to learn and experience what it is like to work at and own a small business.
Students will learn financial literacy, data entry, marketing, communication skills and social skills related to owning and operating a small business.
As a small business owner myself, I know all the different skills that go into operating a business and am confident in my abilities to teach my students these skills. We will pair with the school's DECA Club for marketing advice and school store setup.
A recent trend I am noticing in post-secondary transition for students with moderate disabilities is that parents are taking their child's passions and turning them into small businesses. This trend has been especially prominent since Covid.
Once students are ready to "go public", they will work with the School District to sell their goods either in-person or online. All proceeds will go back into continued funding of this project/future business.
