My middle school students really enjoy our science curriculum and science class with all the explorations and simulations. But it seems that paper is keeping our classroom a little junky. Unfortunately, our school did not purchase the workbooks that came with our Science and Social Studies curricula and there are some items that are necessary to be printed because of the graphics or assessment items which is why we need printer ink.
We have to find a way to reign it in and keep it organized.
The graphics we could glue into our notebooks. And the assessments, I would only have to print them once, if I could print copies with individual answer sheets. These copies would be put in binders categorized by unit to reuse over and over again with the different class periods. We have tried to use different PDF to email apps, but because I am unable to use lockdown browsers the test is forwarded to other class periods fairly quickly.
Lastly, I am looking for an innovative way to stop some of the sticky notes that seem to be everywhere since we use them for entrance and exit tickets and middle of the lesson individual check-ins. I saw the white boards that were bought for the primary classes and immediately thought that has the right idea but they required paper towels (more paper) and liquid. The LCD boards are push to erase and sturdy. All of these items (ink, binders and boards) would make our room run so much more efficiently and give the students a breather from P A P E R everywhere.
