My students need hands-on materials that will last! I am requesting a laminator to protect visuals I make for the kids and sheets that go with the laminator. Thanks!

My Students
Visuals and differentiated instruction is what special education is all about! My students do not learn from typical teaching. They need the hands-on and interactive learning to not only make learning fun but then the material may stick better.
My students are all different types of learners, all with various needs.
They range in ages 4-12 years of age. I work for two schools. One school of the schools is a low income school and materials are hard to come by. These kids have more needs and have very little help at home. All extra support is needed for them.
My Project
Picture me reading a book and my kids having to retell the story back using pictures. Each student will tell the story back putting the pictures in the correct order that the story was told. They will sequence the pictures which speech therapists love to say. Given visuals helps trigger memory of the story and vocabulary. I also can pre teach vocabulary in stories using a picture with a definition. I am requesting a laminating machine so I can make items that will help last over time for my kids. Since I will be able to laminate these pictures, I will make books using other pictures. I will be able to use them across therapy sessions. As a therapist this makes me more willing to spend time to be creative knowing I will have them over time. And the students love visuals. They think it is more fun but they are learning at the same time!
This laminating machine will allow me to make projects for my kids that are hands-on and it will be able to be used over and over with many of my kids.
All my kids learn better with visuals and the machine will allow me to make more of these visuals for them so they learn while having fun doing it. Making learning interactive is the key! So for example I make sequencing picture cards to go with books to help with retell. I also make visuals to help students in areas they struggle with.
