This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
How great would it be if my students could use their mathematics notebooks not just for studying or completing work, but for creating? Please help me make my students' math notebooks come alive!
Our school is a large, inner city middle school for grades 6-8 where obtaining supplies is difficult.
My 7th grade students come into my classroom ready and willing to learn, think, and create. I would love to give these great kids the opportunity to learn math through crafts.
My Project
My students need markers, glue, construction paper and tape. With access to these fun craft supplies, my students will be able to create eye-catching mathematics projects and interactive notebooks. Using color in math notes and adding flaps and folds to important information would keep my students' notes organized. It would also make my students more likely to revisit and study, since adding a bit of glue, scissors, tape or markers makes everything more memorable and fun.
Your donation would give my students the opportunity to use color and graphics to learn and process mathematics concepts on a daily basis, as well as allowing them to create math related projects they would ordinarily not be able to make.
