Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my 5th-grade math classes, we use our whiteboards every single day—whether we’re solving equations, playing review games, or working through word problems together. Starting the year with fresh dry-erase markers and erasers ensures every student has the tools they need to confidently participate and stay engaged from day one.

I’ve carefully selected the items on this list to build on what we already have in our classroom—helping us refresh, restock, and recharge!

The board games will support hands-on math lessons and provide meaningful (and much-needed!) engagement during indoor recess. The new markers will allow students to add creativity and color to our interactive notebooks and seasonal projects, making learning more visual, fun, and memorable.

And let’s not forget snacks! A quick bite fuels growing minds and serves as a great motivational tool to reward effort and celebrate progress.
