My Students

Enrichment, remediation, research, life skills... What tool can help students with all of this and more? The computer! I am in need of more computers for my classroom to help meet the needs of all of my students.

I have 30 very diverse fifth graders who spend time in my classroom each day.

Many of my students are from military families and have lived in many different places. Others have lived in Nevada their entire life. Either way, all of these students bring unique experiences and background knowledge to my class. They are an eager bunch of learners who strive to make themselves better than they were the day before. The love giving presentations, teaching one another, and telling stories to entertain. They also enjoy learning about people, places, and things they have never heard of before.

My Project

As our world becomes more technologically advanced, our students need to become technology savy as well. For many, including myself, our classrooms do not have enough computers to meet the needs of this advancing world. This project will provide four additional computers for my classroom. These Chromebooks will allow students to access the Internet to do research, expand knowledge on subjects they want to know more about, use web-based programs to enrich or remediate based on their needs, and much, much more. The computers will also allow my students to do simple word processing to learn keyboarding skills that are incredibly important.

Computers and the Internet are becoming more and more important in the classroom and in everyday life.

Having more computers at my students' fingertips will allow them more time with technology to enhance their learning and life skills. Too often, there is not enough technology to go around. Having these Chromebooks will help my students see more technology time throughout their year.
