My Students
I teach in a very small rural district where I get to have my kids from the time they enter my classroom for 7th-grade math until they graduate. Because I am the math department I really get to know my students over the course of many years and am able to figure out just what it takes to help them learn. They are an amazing group of kids that may not all enjoy math when the enter my classroom in the 7th grade, but it is my goal for them to at least appreciate it by the time they are ready to walk across that stage at graduation.
My Project
We started the year off with a mobile Chromebook cart for me to use in my classroom and my students love it. From my Algebra 2 students using Desmos to graph quadratic regressions to my 7th graders using them for fraction review, they get used more than I had expected at the beginning of the year. However with new students moving into the district one of my classes has ballooned and now we are one laptop short. It makes using them so much harder when students are having to share their Chromebooks. Please help us get back to a normal routine by providing an additional Chromebook for our classroom.
