North Carolina Pottery Project

Help me give my students clay and clay tools. North Carolina is a state known for pottery, and I want to stay true to our NC roots and give the student's clay experience.

My Project

Students will be tasked with making face jugs, one of the many types of pottery North Carolina is known for.

We do not have functioning kilns here at our high school, so the air dry clay is a wonderful way to give the student's clay experience.

Face jugs date back farther than the 17th century in origin and are a wonderful and wacky way to connect the students to the art of the past.

Please consider helping the artists of our high school get the supplies they need to create a piece of pottery they will have for years to come.
