Nonfiction Readers for Soaring 3rd Graders

My students need nonfiction books to increase fluency and knowledge in our ever changing world!

My Students

Do you remember what it was like as a child when you got caught in a good book? Many of my students love non fiction books and I need more of these in my classroom to keep inspiring my students to love reading!

My students are third graders who love to read and need more non fiction books to read.

My students attend a title 1 school in Arizona where many of the students come from homes where reading is not empahsized. They don't have a lot of access to books outside of school.

My Project

My students will be able to access the world through these books. I will be able to use them in guided reading to teach specific skills as well as students will be able to read them for enjoyment and to learn about a specific animal and do a report on the animal. My students will learn reading skills, strategies and be insprired to choose what they read.

This project will make a difference because many of my students come from homes where reading is not encouraged and books are not readily available.

This project will allow us to have several books in our classroom and students can take the books home to read. The more books the students are exposed to the more chance we have that they will be successful in life and learn to love reading!
