My Students
"A book is a gift you can open again and again." -Garrison Keillor
Please help me give this gift to the students in my classroom!
My class is made up of a group of 18 eager, ready-to-learn 7 year olds.
They attend a large elementary school that houses pre-kindergarten through fifth grade with approximately 800 students. My students come from a low socio-economic area near the coast of South Carolina.
My Project
By adding 10 different sets of new nonfiction books to my classroom, my students will be able to read about topics that interest them in texts that are on their independent reading levels. I aqm asking leveled sets including a complete set of TIME FOR KIDS nonfiction books, a set of Life Science Readers, and a set of Physical Science Readers. These books will allow my students to choose their texts and will also allow readers to travel to destinations they may never see in their lifetime otherwise.
Your donations will go to help create lifelong readers in the students in my classroom.
They will purchase new books to add to our classroom library which will give new choices for independent reading books. Because my students will be able to read about new, interesting topics they may consider new careers that they may not have previously thought about.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
