This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

While teaching in an underprivileged area is immensely rewarding, it can have considerable challenges. Despite these obstacles, my students come to school eager and ready to learn. It is my goal to create a nurturing, loving environment that will facilitate learning! These little scholars deserve to have the best beginning in their academic career.

As Dr Seuss said, "A person's a person no matter how small." These students are the future and cannot be forgotten.

I feel lucky to be the one to help them on their journey.

My Project

My students do not have the luxury of an at home library. Many come to school not knowing how to handle or care for books and magazines.

Scholastic Magazines will give my students an up to date look at grade appropriate non fiction topics geared for the Transitional Kindergarten reader.

Students will be thrilled when they can take their own copy home and build a reading corner of their own. Scholastic Magazines also give students the opportunity to discuss and use the vocabulary of the text. This will benefit all students, especially the English Language learners. Scholastic Magazine also covers many different areas of curriculum in one issue. I am excited to open up this new world of reading Scholastic Magazines with my students!
