This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of the most engaging ways to read novels in an ELA class is through literature circles. This is the practice where students work in a small group reading and discussing a text that thematically connects to the novels other groups are reading at the same time.

For this non-fiction literature circle study, students will dive into the true stories of people from different places and backgrounds to better understand and build connections between people to create a more just and compassionate world.

These novels will encourage the students to consider how one's struggles can be overcome with triumph and hope.
