My students need Time for Kids and Scholastic Magazines to help boost our science and social studies curriculum.

My Students

Students love our science and social studies lessons. We have great nonfiction books in the classroom, but I do not have a lot of materials to enrich these lessons, when they go home.

There are 18 energetic three and four-year-old children, in my class.

Our school includes students from pre-k to eighth-grade. It is in a high poverty area, and about 95% of the students in the school receive free lunch. Our school is in a low-income neighborhood, where the budget cuts have left no hope that materials will be purchased in the near future.

My Project

I would like to bring Scholastic Magazine and Time for Kids into my classroom, to help enrich our lessons in science and social studies, and to provide my students with more nonfiction reading materials. These magazines will give them an insight into what is going on in their world. Both magazines are, also, wonderful tools to use to teach reading, to Pre-K, because they are written at the students' reading level. The Scholastic magazines will be used in class, and can be sent home for homework. The Time for Kids is a digital subscription. I will be able to use it with our SMARTtboard.

Your donation will help create worldly and appreciative students.

Having these magazines, would assure me that my students are aware of their world, and they may even think of ways they can positively change it, for generations to come. Both magazines are also wonderful tools to use to teach reading to Pre-K, because they are written at the students' reading level.
