My Students

Kids are so full of questions! I want to help them find their own answers!

My students live in a high-poverty area of Washington State.

The school typically scores well below state standards on standardized tests. My students started the year reading well below grade level, and I aim to change that! I need to provide them with high-interest materials that will inspire them all to read, read, read!

My Project

These books are awesome! I chose non-fiction books about eagles, wolves, bears, pandas, koalas, giraffes, and penguins. You name the animal, it's there! I know my students love animals, so what better way to reach their reading potential than by reading books about animals?

My students need a firm foundation of reading skills and reading success in order to reach state standard in all areas.

My goal is to have all my students reading at or above grade level by the end of the year! Please help!
