Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students will walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. We are a true melting pot as my students come from all walks of life and different cultures.
We are a Dual Language class and this add an extra challenge to Kindergarten.
My students are accessing general education content in two languages (English/ Spanish). They are an energetic group of Kindergarteners. We celebrate little wins together each day in both languages. I seek to prepare our Bilingual students to tackle the ever-changing world that demands a multitude of languages.
My Project
My students will be exposed to specific content through non-fiction books. To develop my students interest about the world from animals to volcanos, from plants to dinosaurs , from trains to sharks... the sky is the limit.
My students have curious minds that need to be stimulated.
These books would satisfy their craving for knowledge and how things work in and around our world. I am hoping to carry this love for reading throughout their lives by immersing them in rich texts. We love reading non-fiction books about topics that interest us. These books will help expand my students' knowledge and vocabulary. Non-fiction reading is essential for academic success. Help build our library so they have choices when selecting books and topics to read about.
