Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There’s something magical about cuddling up with a good storybook, entering an imaginary world, and taking a journey with a vibrant character. However, nonfiction books for kids can also bring about memorable conversations and reveal some of the magic in our world.

Studies show that early reading helps kids’ mental development and that literacy skills are a good predictor of student success in school and life.

Given that I work with special needs students, the books I have chosen will be utilized to supplement their learning outside of the general classroom. Students with learning disabilities need multiple opportunities to practice skills. The National Geographic Readers and Celebrating Lunar New Year book I am requesting will engage my students in learning more about our world while enhancing their reading comprehension. The TPT gift card will allow me to purchase teacher-made materials to enhance their learning.
