My Students
I am a busy kindergarten teacher with 22 eager learners. We are in need of non-fiction books for our classroom library.
My students come from a Title 1 school.
In our kindergarten classroom, we celebrate different nationalities, special education students, and gifted and talented students. My room is very diverse, to say the least. My students also come from a wide range of home environments. Each day is different from the day before, but each day is incredibly inspiring with my class of learners.
My Project
These non-fiction books will be used daily in our classroom library for my kindergarten students to learn about the components of non-fiction books. I have selected many animal titles because students naturally love animals and have schema about a lot of animals.
My students will use the books for research in the spring, but also throughout the year to learn about animals. These books are written on an emergent level and have beautiful photographs.
These books will encourage my young readers even more than they already are.
My students will learn how fiction and non-fiction is different as well as have a broad variety of animal books for independent learning and research.
