My Students

Non fiction is the key to getting many kids to read!

My students want to learn.

They are in love with books and stories, now they need to learn how to love non-fiction! My students live in a high poverty area of Washington state. They are ethnically and racially diverse. They are normal kids who need great books to read!

My Project

The resources include non-fiction books about the environment. Kids will learn that they need to take care of the Earth, and how they can do this. Also, there are great non-fiction sets of 6 books. I can use these wonderful, easy to read sets to have guided reading groups.

Non-fiction is often the key to getting kids to read.

Non-fiction excites kids and allows them to learn about interesting topics over and over again. Kids can learn about bugs, the environment, and the world!
