This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a public school located at the border of the vibrant Castro and Mission districts in the heart of San Francisco. Students are diverse including a thriving newcomers and special day student community. 61% of students identify as Hispanic. We offer Spanish Immersion instruction and unique enrichment in arts, leadership and civic activism.

My Project

Sometimes the classroom can get noisy, such is the reality of middle school. These noise canceling headphones will promote focus and productivity especially for kids who get distracted easily.

Many of my students have experienced trauma in their home lives, and a noisy classroom can be triggering.

These headphones are a positive solution. They will block out all the unnecessary noise and help students focus on the task at hand, whether it be an exam or a project or regular classwork. I can see not just a few, but my entire classes benefiting from these.
