No Sport Left Behind.. Serve, Receive, and Set to Kill!
My students need a net, volleyballs, knee pads and training gadgets to practice outside our school. Not having a gym at our school makes it challenging to practice without the right equipment.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Moret's classroom raised $492

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Each of our students are eager to become bilingual learners as well as to participate in or extra curricular activities. They seeking to be well rounded citizens and to stay engage in healthy activities not only during our school hours, but after school as well. These students are mainly from low income families that lack better opportunities on daily basis. They come from a humble and many from poor homes, hoping to become someone or greater impact in our community.
Our kids are in search of being well rounded and skillful citizens, not only by exercising their mind, but their body as well.
I have students whose life experiences are beyond their years and also find distraction in our sports program as well on our rigorous and fun academic curriculum. Surrounded by poverty, violence, drugs, lack of education and family values, these students find in our school and extra curricular programs as an outlet where they build bodies, minds, self esteem, and boost their confidence while educating their brains.
My Project
Volleyball tends to be the forgotten child of sports in middle schools. Many kids never consider playing volleyball until they reach high school. In our middle school, volleyball has been growing the past few years making it possible to compete in the championship in our division. It is our goal to increase the practices per week, but our school does not have a gym to practice. We totally depend on rec center availability to practice in their facilities. The net set, will allow us to have additional practices in our school back yard. We the increasing number of students trying out for volleyball last year, we will hold volleyball clinics to allow more kids to join. We also want to increase players skill level for tournaments.
Thru volleyball clinics, our players will learn team building strategies, coordination, fitness, timing among other skills .
Holding volleyball practice and clinics, will allow me to use the sport as a behavioral and discipline measure. Our programs not only builds the student and player, but the entire child as a leader.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
