This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

So many young students are going through a change in their lives that they are not yet familiar with. Some families don't have the funds to provide for the needs of these young students, some students are just embarrassed to ask for what they need from teachers.

Our goal is to provide our students with the hygiene supplies they need to feel comfortable at school.

During the summer, I collected over 100 makeup bags that need to be filled with feminine products and then distributed to our 4th and 5th grade girls. This will allow our students access to deodorant, menstrual pads, and other hygiene items. They can carry their bags with them in their backpacks and pull them out when needed because let's face it, a makeup bag is much less embarrassing than a pad.

Also, I would love to have enough deodorant to provide to each 4th and 5th grader at our school. This is another thing families may have trouble purchasing for their students.

I know with your help, my goal of providing each of our students with these products, will happen!
