My Students
I have great kids. I have A LOT of kids. This year I have 37 (and counting...) students in the classroom. I wish they were all here every day, but even in a "normal year", students miss school. One of the unfortunate effects all teachers are dealing with because of Covid is absenteeism. On any given day I am missing sometimes 2-3 or as many as 10-12 students. At the time of writing this, I have 392 absences to date. That means, on average, each student has missed over 10 school days this year. Absences are part of every teacher's life, but Covid has pushed this into a critical problem.
My hope is to purchase resources that can directly intervene and help individual students that have missed necessary concepts.
I would like to purchase upgrades for several online subscriptions. Prodigy, Readagogo, Kahoot, and The History Channel are a few examples of resources I would like to upgrade. I would also love to have some tangible resources to send home with kids that have limited access to technology. These include flash cards for math, workbooks for math and reading comprehension, manipulatives that can go home and come back, and other items.
My Project
We are living in a new normal. In order for students to keep progressing during these trying times they need more help than ever.
These materials, resources, and manipulatives will give students opportunities to continue learning, even when they can't be at school.
Students will be able to take items home where they can practice skills necessary to continue their learning and progress. Many students don't have access to technology and need these resources and materials.
The goal is to make sure all students have the resources they need to be successful.
