No More Worksheets! Hands On Learning In Math and Reading

Help me give my students Versa Tiles math and literacy independent study materials. They are super hands on materials that engage kids in learning while haaving fun.

My Students

I work with a small group of children who need creative, specialized instruction. They are the 5th-8th graders that I provide specialized instruction to every day. My students are working to self regulate their emotions and behaviors so they can experience success in school. They have a hard time functioning in large classrooms with many students so I work with them in smaller groups.

My classroom is filled with students who are working anywhere from a first grade level to an eighth grade level in math and reading.

I may have an eighth grader who is reading at a third grade level or a second grader working at a fifth grade level. Right now, they spend time in my special education classroom, but the goal is to get them out into the regular education setting. They work hard to reach that goal. I sometimes work with one student at a time, other times I teach to the whole group. The extra support that they get in the special education classroom helps them reach their goal. They are an awesome group of kids!

My Project

I tried the Versa Tiles independent work sets for math and literacy and they are amazing! I need to work individually or in small groups with kids, but I need engaging work for the kids I'm not working with at that time. These materials are perfect for independent practice. My students work at different grade levels so these kits, at different levels, will be perfect.

The kids love Versa Tiles because they are hands-on and students can get immediate feedback.

I love that they are hands-on because they keep the kids engaged and it is fun to make the patterns (the patterns tell the kids if they've done the work correctly). If the pattern made with tiles is not right, the kids know that they have to make corrections where the pattern is not right. Versa Tiles workbooks are challenging as well. I feel very confident that when they are using the Versa Tiles they are learning. The books are organized in a way that makes it easy for teachers to know which book to use.
