Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a second grade teacher, and I teach all subjects in a school that serves low-income students. Our supplies are limited at the school and the paper that we use is sometimes more than we are provided with. I know that for children practicing a skill in any area is key to their learning, and my solution for this is dry erase boards for each student. Providing the students with their own marker and board would be beneficial not only because they will be practicing but also because they enjoy having a different experience than just paper and pencil. They can use these boards to practice different math skills, spelling words, making sentences, and so much more while eliminating the paper on the floor or in the garbage. These boards are also magnetic so students can practice using magnetic letters to create words using prefixes, roots, etc and be more motivated to learn because its fun. These materials would be used in all subjects, for students of all levels, and reused in future years.
