My Students
My students are a group of enthusiastic, motivated learners who love to be challenged. They are unusually kind and helpful to each other for 6- and 7-year-olds, and it's a gift to work with them each day.
They are so excited to come to school that they compete every morning to get through the classroom door first.
When I give them a quick "brain & body" break in between lessons, every kid immediately grabs a book from our classroom library, without prompting. For those few minutes of down time, they read fictional stories with their friends or pore over non-fiction as they ooh and ahh over interesting new facts.
My Project
The kids (and their teacher) are running out of patience with our outdated display system. They're tired of waiting for things to come in to focus, tired of the display being too bright or too dark, tired of only being able to see half of the display because it doesn't all fit on the screen, and sometimes they are disappointed when it doesn't work at all. Teaching and learning should be efficient and our current display system is anything but.
With one Smart TV and Apple TV, we could have a much more seamless instructional set-up in our classroom that not only reduces obstruction but also prevents the chaos of cords and mobile projectors that get in the way of teaching and learning.
