No More Takis!

Help me give my students something besides Takis to eat for a snack! My 5th graders need protein-packed snacks and mints for mind refreshment!

My Project

Many of my students come to school without eating breakfast. And those same students rely on the free and reduced lunch program to eat at school. This means they don't have available snacks and our lunchtime isn't until 1:30. I have often given up my own snacks or brought things from home for these students because I am also a mom and I know that all kids deserve good things to eat.

When students are thinking about how hungry they are, they cannot focus on learning math and reading.

These students suffer from stomachaches and headaches that derail their attention from the school work they're supposed to be doing. And even the students who have food to eat, have non-nutritional snacks like chips. Having protein-packed nutritious snacks will help my students be able to concentrate on learning. These snacks will go a long way to helping the most vulnerable in my class.
