This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first grade classroom is a place where students can come to learn to read and think together. As a teacher in a Title I school, I do everything in my power to build a strong foundation of skills to enable my students' success. They know that this is a place where they will be safe, loved, and encouraged.

At my school, we nurture, educate, and inspire students from various backgrounds and 99% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

Our students are eager and determined.

My Project

I am requesting new shoes for our school nurse's office. Our nurse has a modest collection of donated uniforms, but she does not currently have any shoes. Students at our school often times have shoes that break or fall apart. Many must keep wearing these shoes until their parents can afford to purchase new ones.

Without proper footwear, students are forced to sit out of their physical education class due to safety concerns.

With your help, I can reduce the number of students that cannot participate in physical activities. All kids need time to play to rejuvenate and activate different brain sections. Your generosity will help me get more kids moving!
