This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Get rid of the mouse for our class. Help make Kindergarten students' computer time as positive, fun and exciting learning experience without the use of the mouse.
I teach at a wonderful, multi-cultural, public school located in the San Fernando Valley.
We are a Title One school, and many of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes. My class includes students that are both English and non-English speakers, as well as students with disabilities. All of my students enjoy working on the computer love to create self-portraits on the computer, but the computer lab is only once a week.
My Project
TouchScreen computer is perfect tool for kindergarten students to access the technology in the classroom. Most of the students have hard time clicking the mouse. Their little hands don't caress the mouse to move from side to side. At age four and five, they have hard time figuring out which is the right or left.
With a new computer, we have the opportunity to access many software that will enhance our kindergarten reading and math curriculum. A bigger monitor will help more students to see the screen better.
If we could have a computer that allows us to move things with a touch of a finger, our students will experience the wonders of magic.
More learning will get done instead of waiting for someone to help fix the problem due to the wrong click of a mouse.
By funding this proposal, you will be giving my students a computer that will bring magic in learning. Generous donors such as yourself can make a difference in our education. Thank you in advance for your help!
