As the art teacher at my elementary school, I am very lucky that I get to share my love of art and art history with over 800 of my best friends. I'm sure you can imagine, however, that with so many besties the budget is tight.
We use our creative problem solving skills to work with what we have and make beautiful art together, while learning the principals of design.
Though there is one thing that we can not mod podge our way around and that is our old school projector.
My dream is to install a large TV screen in the art room, so my students can have a crisp and high quality view of the artwork I love to share with them. Whether it is a virtual tour of museums around the world or our daily instruction, we just the projector for just about everything. The biggest issue we have is that the projector works best in the dark, but the doc cam requires light in order to capture its subject. Therein lies the issue. Lights on or lights off? With a series of strategically placed lights we are able to make it work, but it is only a half measure.
Help us shine some light in the art room and give my students a new view of art and all of its possibilities, with a new doc cam and a large screen from the current century.
