This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My plan is to have no more lost caps so our markers and glue sticks don't dry out and get wasted. My 2nd grade students love working with colorful markers, dry erase markers, and glue sticks for the many projects in our classroom. However, many of them struggle to not lose the caps. The caps roll off the tables easily and fall to the floor causing our supplies to dry out and be wasted.

I have found a good solution to this problem - duct tape the caps of all the markers and glue sticks in an individual set together!

Each child will get one set that includes 10 markers, a dry erase marker, and a glue stick. No caps go rolling and everything stays together. If a piece gets lost or dried out, we just add a new one to the set. I tried it this year and it was life changing!

I want to get a set of markers and glue sticks ready for each of my students next year. It is a bit time consuming to tape them together so I would like to get it all set up during the summer and I need the markers, glue sticks and duct tape now so I can get started. The pencil cases will be used to store an individual set of pencils and erasers for each student so those all stay organized as well.
