Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The science of reading calls for explicit and systematic approaches that teach students the foundational skills necessary for proficient reading. This program is very hands-on for the children. For each lesson, we use various materials such as dry-erase sleeves to put our sentence writing items in after we learn new spelling patterns, along with dry erasers, superhero items to go along with UFLI and secret stories reading programs, items from TPT to purchase printable decodables the students can take home and several books. All of these items will help us be successful in our everyday learning.
All students deserve a chance to learn to read with approaches that have been researched and shown to work.
To do this successfully, they need materials to help make learning fun and engaging.
This opportunity provides all students, including those who may struggle with reading and the opportunity to succeed.
