My Project

A few years ago, in the Spring, I had a student with a broken shoe. Someone on campus found him some shoes hat would suffice. In the Fall of the next school year, the student was still wearing the same used shoes the school provided. They were again in terrible shape.

The school, once again, provided him shoes.

This time they were new. When he put them on he said, "Are these new?" It immediately broke my heart knowing myself and my children have always been able to purchase new shoes when they were needed or even wanted and others have not had that luxury. It's a moment that clearly brought the reality of our students' situation into sharp focus.

Every child deserves to feel new shoes on their feet so Iam requesting sneakers in various sizes.
