My Students
How are we to complete our writing tasks without ink to print the articles needed for common core standards and publish their papers? Rough drafts must be hand written as there are not enough computers for them to be on - so we need sharpeners to keep our pencil points set to go...
My students are very diversified in learning abilities, races and backgrounds.
57.7% of the students are free/reduced lunch. Our school has just passed midterm of the first quarter and money at building levels was cut so far that we only have $5,000 for our school that houses 535 students for the remainder of this year.
My Project
By funding the request I am submitting, my students will be able to print the articles that the Common Core State Standards requires students to use in writing from multiple sources and LDC tasks. They will be able to use technology instead of only trying to find books in the library which is scarce on nonfiction. Since we don't have enough computers for all to use, we need our pencils sharpened to create our rough drafts.
