Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students come from all parts of the city. They come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 80% of our students receive free lunch. The budget for simple things, to be able to play a sport, such as athletic gear, uniforms, balls, bats gloves etc., needs to be divided between 10 other teams in the building which makes it difficult to get the necessities needed every single year. Currently, we are in need of new uniforms for the start of our season. It is mandatory that all our students are geared with matching uniforms in order to be eligible to play during the season. With your help, we will be able to get our season underway.
My Project
An essential part of playing any team sport is being able to look like a team. Our Varsity baseball team needs the basic gear in order to play baseball, jerseys and hats. The jerseys will helps us play and compete more as a team. This would be one less thing we will have to worry about as we concentrate on building team chemistry and practice for the upcoming season.
With your help, the jerseys and hats will help our team feel confident because they look like a unit, and use that confidence to give it there all when out on the field.
A jersey might seems like nothing but it fills our players with a sense of pride to represent something bigger than themselves.
