My Students

This year I will have a wide range of students. Most of my students are Native American. Some that are eager to learn, others that will need that extra push to succeed. The children seem to work really well together and encourage each other.

I believe that all students can and will learn regardless of ethnicity.

They just need to be nurtured and encourage to succeed. Some just need to know that they are loved and can achieve their goals as long as they don't quit and never give up.

My Project

My students need a basketball goal and balls in order to increase hand-eye coordination. This will support help support their visual processing and sensory motor skills. These skills are essential in the reading and writing process. Shooting the basketball, kicking the soccer ball or throwing the football will all help develop these skills.

Visual and motors skills will all be stimulated with these materials.

For example, if we have the child keep their eye on the ball while shooting; they will be able to follow and track the words while reading. Another example, handwriting skills which are enhanced by visual skills learned during these activities will tell the students where and long to make the lines for forming letters.
