This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Working in an inner city school for the past 16 years has been eye opening to me. 100% of our students receive free breakfast, snack and lunch every day. Violence can erupt at any time during the day outside of our school, and yet our kids are the most incredible and resilient young people I have ever met.

When they are in school, they are happy.

They WANT to learn and develop and grow. They have dreams and goals and really do work hard to try and put themselves on the path of success.

Unfortunately, our budget sometimes becomes an added obstacle for them to overcome. This is why I am asking for your help. Please help me help them.

My Project

During last year's flu season, we went through a ton of hand sanitizer and wipes! We really tried to wipe down our desks and shared materials to try and avoid spreading the flu around our classroom.

Now, with us heading back into the classroom soon, we need to replenish our stock.

We are going to need to be even more cautious about staying as healthy as possible and we need the wipes and sanitizer in order to do that. I know that masks will be required, but I cannot guarantee that every student will be able to bring or will remember to bring theirs in. I need to have extras on hand in case that happens.

I want to be able to tell the parents of my students that I am doing everything I can to try and keep their children safe. I need your help to do that.
