My Project
In my 10th grade ELA classroom, I plan to integrate The Tempest and Hamlet to deepen my students' understanding of classic literature, themes of human nature, and literary devices. I believe these texts will spark meaningful discussions about power, revenge, and identity, which are not only relevant to the stories, but also to their lives. With The Tempest, students will explore themes of forgiveness, control, and colonization, while Hamlet will provide a lens into questions of morality, fate, and the complexities of the human psyche. Through engaging discussions, projects, and creative assignments, I will guide my students to connect these timeless works to their own experiences, encouraging them to develop critical thinking and empathy.
My students are unique because they bring a diverse range of perspectives, experiences, and learning styles to the classroom.
I love their curiosity and the way they challenge me to think more deeply about the material. By using The Tempest and Hamlet, I aim to cultivate their ability to analyze complex texts, express their thoughts clearly, and engage in respectful debates. These resources will not only make a difference in their ability to navigate difficult texts but will also help them develop skills that extend beyond the classroom. My goal is to help them see the relevance of literature to their lives and inspire them to become lifelong learners who are curious, thoughtful, and confident in their voices.
