This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have always been interested in water and are always trying to wash their toys. We have been learning about machines and the ways laundry machines have evolved. To support their learning; we will read a book about washing machines then compare the changes. We will have them explore using a handheld washing board and will take turns washing their own apron.
The washing boards and tubs will help them compare how clothes are washed faster compared to before and notice other changes and technology and machines can make our lives so much easier.
Additionally, they will experience how technology can be used to improve many things we use today. We will compare and contrast using a book about machines and compare it to the way a washing board works. Then will practice their fine motor skills as they hang them dry.
