My Students
My students are energetic and excited to learn. My first graders thrive in a structured environment. They live in a community on the west side of Chicago. It is a beautiful and strong community but lacks some resources.
When they come to school, many of my students have needs that need to be met, and we work to meet them, but we also learn to read!
They were online for the majority of their Kindergarten year to keep everyone safe and help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community. For many this will be their first time learning in a classroom!
My Project
At the end of December, my students will have a two week break. They have made so much growth since starting school in August!
My students deserve quality creative stimulation even when they aren't at home, and these items will help provide that for them!
I want to make sure to send them off for break with books to practice their reading (and read to their younger siblings), Legos to build something with their hands, and markers and stickers to create homemade cards for their loved ones for the holidays.
In this project, I made sure that each student will get a book at their current reading level to continue to build confidence in their reading. Thank you in advance for your support!
