This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember the pride in buying and showing off your new backpack? Not all of my students can afford to buy new backpacks and feel jealous of their classmates that do. Backpacks also are so bulky and take away precious working space.
I have 24 bilingual students who love singing, dancing, and "playing" on the computers.
They are sweet and loving for us and expect us to entertain and love them. We are located in a low income neighborhood. The parents of my students want the best for their children and I see this as they hug and kiss their children every morning and wish them a good day at school.
My Project
Your donation will bring us 28 book bags so everyone has the same style backpack and to help free up space; this will give us 4 extra bags since we usually have more than 24 students during those first days of school. I am also requesting permanent markers to mark their names on their bags and other supplies they may bring. Since this request is for the beginning of the school year, I am also asking for 2 boxes of sheet protectors that will house their reading logs, behavior sheets, and parent communication sheets in their folders. Along with the sheets protectors, I'd like 36 Welcome pencils and 2 packages of name plates that will go on folders and backpacks. Last, I'm asking for 2 packages of All About Me Star Cards in Spanish so students will come to school ready to share about themselves.
Your donation will help us get off to a good start in August.
We are in need of 28 book bags that will act as their backpacks, 36 Welcome pencils, 2 packages of All About Me Star Cards in Spanish, 2 packages of name plates, 2 boxes of sheet protectors, and one set of permanent markers. Thank you for giving my students a great start into the 2012-2013 school year!
