Nifty Nonfiction Necessities

My project needs several new science informational texts for the classroom. We also need comprehension cubes for informational text. The digital scale will provide additional assistance with the reading and hands on activities offered in the books.

This project is fully funded

The 18 enthusiastic third grade students from a small coastal town in South Carolina would really appreciate some help with additional supplies for their informational classroom library. Third grade students in South Carolina are not only encouraged to read, but now they must be able to apply what they have read. These students are no longer just learning to read, but reading to learn new information. They are very eager to learn new and interesting things, but have a difficult time learning to differentiate reading techniques between fiction and nonfiction reading strategies. Science is a very exciting and motivating subject to third grade students. The more information these third grade students can be exposed to at a young age, the better they will be able to grasp and remember information presented to them in years to come. Our class needs some help with our new nonfiction classroom library. We are in need of new materials that children find interesting. The informational comprehension cubes encourage the children to become better readers of nonfiction. When the class receives this new material, I know that they will blossom and become happy and proficient readers of informational text. Just think, if you contribute, you could be responsible for several third grade students becoming successful individuals in mastering the art of reading informational text!
