This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are part of a community that is impoverished and underprivileged. 100% of them receive free lunch due to their economic status and about 70% of them are learning English for the first time. They come from hard working families that value education and look forward to a brighter future for their kids- but they depend on the teachers to show them how to get there. Parents and school personnel share a consuming passion of making and reaching goals by working together for our children.

My Project

Our school has used grant money to get us the technology- 12 iPad minis! But now, we need help keeping them organized and accessible. These materials will make accessing the amazing iPad technology much easier for little fingers learning to grab and pull. My students are just beginning to learn how to be independent and do things on their own. Learning how to properly use and store an iPad is one way they can feel successful in the classroom environment.

Another way to feel competent is knowing where to go when using an iPad.

The Hokki stools will help us designate an iPad hot spot for users in our classroom. These stools are very versatile and can be used in many other ways around the classroom as well- like for extra wiggly workers!

With all these new resources, my students will be on their way to technology independence, learning good habits of taking care of resources, and finding just the right spot to sit.
