This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Hey there friends! I am a secondary teacher at a low SES school. My students have a passion for learning but sometimes feel stuck in the perfunctory of the everyday. They crave an inviting classroom and interactive lessons! My students need a classroom environment where they can relax and feel comfortable but still get the learning that they crave and higher-level learning in a safe and comfy room. My students are ready for a classroom they are excited to visit!
My Project
My National Honor Society students would love to implement a paper recycling program on our campus and would benefit from volunteer work that would come along with the activity. We want to be more involved on our campus and this program could benefit the teachers, the students, and the environment. Many of our members themselves are not able to get service outside of school and so this is one program that would allow them to volunteer and directly impact their peers, teachers, and their school at large.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
