This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students are passionate about woodwork. They have created beautiful birdhouses, treasure boxes, and shelves for our Makerspace. We use sharp tools! Jigsaws, circular saws, and Dremels. That's a reality of carpentry-- but rest assured we are extremely safe with these tools-- using gloves, goggles, and adult supervision. With this in mind, to make quick precise cuts, nothing can replace a mitre saw. We will be using this for a variety of projects-- especially frames. Students create beautiful art pieces that deserve to be framed, however, our woodworkers find it challenging to create professional-looking ones. With a mitre saw, we can take our woodworking to the next level.
