My Project

My students are very creative gifted learners in grades kindergarten to middle school who enjoy learning about the world around them! They deserve an environment that supports their social and emotional needs and fosters their abilities of high reasoning and creativity. Applying standards to the real world world is our goal. They have been working hard on this goal all while managing the stress and worry of COVID. Adding time into the day to create and make things can help ease their stress and keep their love of learning alive! Taking care of their emotional and academic needs can keep them thriving despite what they've been through. Finding the right tools is part of the fun and challenge of teaching them, where I provide inspiration, instruction, and then let them go and create!

Students are already tech savvy, but they need extra time and equipment to develop more sophisticated computer programming and STEM skills to take their learning to the next level.

Makey Makey is an electronic invention kit that allows them to put their imagination and curious minds to work to invent new things while using existing coding apps. They can explore and learn with the physics and circuitry kit to then apply their knowledge to create new things with the Makey Makey kit. Research, engineering, and programming will play key rolls as they create new musical instruments, apps to learn a new language, art, storytelling, and many other interactive projects to keep them loving learning and developing creative and critical thinking skills!
