My Students

My classroom is made up of 20 students all of different backgrounds. My classroom has a variety of different learners and my goal in life is to create a fun learning environment for all.

I work in a large school with a very high immigrant population.

Students at my school come from poverty-driven homes. I see a lot of my students come to school with the same clothes each day. They are all needy in their own way. Although they are needy most of them try to stay positive.

My Project

Our school has begun implementing the Next Gen Science Standards but we don't have any resources available to teach the standards. Having these kits will allow the students to have hands-on experiences in science class.

We start are year with weather and climate, then we learn about forces and motion, and then finally we learn about the differences between animal and plant life cycles and try to understand inheritance which is a tough topic for third graders.

Each of these units and kits will be used to teach 20 students. These students come from varying backgrounds and I want to be able to provide as many rich experiences as I can.
